In years 4, 5, & 6 our students receive specialised instrumental music lessons conducted in small groups. Year Four learn the recorder, Year Five the guitar & Year Six learn the drums.

Reception to Year 3 students have class-based music programs which culminate with school performances and concerts. Music is also an integral part of our Liturgical celebrations. A school choir is formed at various events throughout the year.

Private tuition is provided on site in the following instruments: vocal, guitar, piano, drums, and recorder by Sandy Bowen and Kerry Davy.  Please contact the front office for details about this tuition.

The Arts

(Performing Arts, Visual Arts, Media Arts)

Each learning area is broken down into two strands: Making and Responding.

Students from Reception to Year 6 participate in a Specialist Arts lesson for 45 minutes weekly. Here, the emphasis is on Music, Drama and Dance.

Visual Arts and Media Arts are taught by the classroom teacher.

In the Performing Arts room, students express themselves as they listen, explore, view, play games, move, sing and use classroom instruments. In Year 3 3-6, the students also experiment and explore using Music Software available on the iPads and their own laptops.

Students explore, investigate and learn about the diverse genres and differing cultural perspectives expressed in the Arts.

Kerry Davy teaches class instrumental tuition in Recorder (Year 4), Guitar (Year 5) and Drums (Year 6)

Kate Mensforth delivers dance lessons to each class as a stand-alone programme (currently in Term 3).

As well as formal curriculum lessons, students are offered many performing opportunities through drama, music and dance. We also encourage our students to participate in community arts events such as The Rotary Arts Prize and the Clare Valley Portrait Prize.
